5 Tips For Maternity Photo Session
5 Tips for Maternity photo session from a professional maternity photographer in Sydney. As a professional maternity photographer in Sydney, I would like to share some useful tips and insights with you before you are heading to your maternity photo session.
Why Maternity Photo Session
Maternity photo session is one of a very popular photo session our clients love. Maternity photoshoot gives you and your partner a chance to memorise this amazing moments together. How far you both have come and welcoming a new member into your life is just super excited. Moreover, the change of the body is also important for the mums. Not every mums feel comfortable with the change of their body but it is worth to celebrate your body and to photograph that baby bump, that round tummy and that happiness that will shows through your eyes and through the camera lens. My clients love maternity photoshoot especially combining it with the newborn photo session to create a beautiful heirloom album to keep forever and to share with the family and friends from times to times.
When is The Best Time?
As a professional maternity photographer in Sydney, I recommend my clients that the best time for a maternity photo session is between 32 – 35 weeks. I don’t recommend any earlier than 32 weeks because for the maternity photo session, we want your bump to be fully showing, nice and round. And the reason that I don’t recommend after 35 weeks is because you might not feel comfortable during the session and it can be too risky. Maternity photo session is a specific photo session with poses that can feel awkward and mums can get tired from posing for a prolong period of time.

Vision and Plan
It is always great to have a vision and a plan especially for something very special and very meaningful like your maternity photo session. It is a great idea if you can describe the vision you have in mind to your professional maternity photographer so they will get a better understand of what you are after. Are you visioning yourself with that light grey beautiful maternity gown or with the dark fabric for dapping? Do you like maternity silk fabric, maternity chiffon scarfs or maternity tulle scarfs? Make a plan of what you wish to do with these portraits. Are you into a big wall art for your home or are you into a lot of portraits in a heirloom album for you to keep and share with your family and friends forever? The vision and plan helps when it comes to designing and planning for your maternity photo session.
