I’ll be honest — when one of my clients first asked for a Pokémon-themed newborn photo session, I was completely blank! I didn’t know where to start. I knew Pokémon was a huge part of many people’s childhoods (and still is!), but I had never imagined creating a newborn setup inspired by it.
So, I did what most of us do — I started Googling. I looked up the Pokémon world, the characters, the colours, and the iconic symbols to see what I could create in my photography studio. And very quickly, I began to understand why so many parents love it so much. The colours are bright and joyful, the characters are adorable, and the whole theme just radiates happiness — perfect for celebrating a new little life!
What made these sessions even more special was how involved the parents were. Many families brought along their own Pokémon soft toys, figurines, and even Pokémon cards to include in the photos. These little personal touches made each session feel unique and meaningful — a true reflection of the family’s personality and memories.
Once I started styling Pokémon setups, I realised how much fun it could be! I’ve created adorable scenes with soft red, yellow, and blue tones, using props and textures that match the playful Pokémon theme. The end result? Beautiful, vibrant photos that blend the magic of childhood nostalgia with the sweetness of a newborn.
Now, I can officially say — I’m a Pokémon fan too!
