As a newborn photographer, one of my favourite parts of what I do is seeing all the creative ideas my clients bring into the studio. Every family has their own story — and sometimes, their ideas lead to the most fun and memorable photo sessions!
My first ever Star Wars-themed newborn session started exactly that way. The parents were huge Star Wars fans and came to the studio with their own collection of Star Wars props. They had the cutest soft toys and a few little items they hoped to include in the photos.
At first, I looked at the Star Wars plushies for a while, trying to imagine how to bring them together into a setup that felt both adorable and true to the theme. I wanted to make sure the baby remained the star of the show (of course!) while still capturing the fun spirit of Star Wars.
Once I started styling, everything came together beautifully. The mix of soft neutral tones with the little Star Wars characters created such a sweet and playful scene. The parents loved it — and honestly, so did I!
That session sparked something new for me. Since then, I’ve had more families request Star Wars-themed setups for their babies, and every time I get a new idea for how to make it special. And yes — I finally know who Baby Yoda is now!
It’s such a joy to bring my clients’ ideas to life, and the Star Wars theme has become one of those wonderful examples of how creative collaboration can turn into something magical. Whether it’s a tiny Jedi, a little Princess Leia, or just a cozy newborn surrounded by their parents’ favourite characters — these sessions always make everyone smile.
